Bible Baptist Church’s youth ministry, known as the “Ambassadors for Christ” consists of young people, grades 7 thru 12.  The youth ministry runs a Positive Action for Christ Proteen club which meets every Sunday morning at 9:30 and again on Wednesday evenings at 7:00.  Each meeting begins with song service followed by a Bible lesson.

Throughout the year, many activities as well as ministry opportunities are provided for the youth group. Some of those include:

Fall Campout:

Usually takes place in early September on the church property for young people, 3rd through 12th grade.  The fall campout is always a lot of fun and a great way to kickoff the new ministry year.  For information about the fall campout, click here – Fall Campout Packet.

Nursing Home Ministry:

Twice a month on a Sunday afternoon, the youth and a number of adults hold a service at a local Nursing Home. The youth are encouraged to get involved through greeting and interacting with the residents and are required to participate in a special music number for each service.

Summer Camp:

Each summer the teens have the opportunity to go to a week-long summer camp. The youth ministry rotates between different summer camps. The camps include The WILDS in Brevard, NC, the WILDS of New England located in Deering, NH, Tri-State Bible Camp in Montague, NJ, and Servant’s Heart Camp of Ramey, PA.

Winter Retreat:

Each year between January and February, the youth have the opportunity to attend SHCM Winter Camp.

Bible Quizzing:

Bible Baptist Church is one of several churches that participate in a Bible quizzing competition each winter and spring sponsored by Servant’s Heart Camp Ministry.  Each year the youth group memorizes a book of the Bible and in the months of January, February, and March, meets with other church youth groups to compete on the knowledge of their memorized verses. In April, a special all-day quizzing rally takes place to see which youth group will come out on top. You can visit our Practice Quiz page to try some of our practice quiz questions.

Youth Group Retreats:

The youth group usually goes on at least one retreat throughout the year. We have access to property in Tioga County, PA and we often take a Work Weekend Retreat up to Ramey, PA at the SHCM property to help clean up and as enjoy the activities there.

Christmas Caroling:

Each year at Christmas time, the youth have two opportunities to go Christmas caroling.  Once on a Wednesday night at a local nursing home and another on a Saturday to families and neighbors in the community. Check the Calendar for more information.
